Book Review: 3 Books for Creating an Abundance Mindset

Who doesn’t want to be rich? Or, at least have enough money in the bank that you never need to worry about today or tomorrow. If managing your finances is one life area you struggle with, you need to find ways of cultivating an abundance mindset.

When you know what’s holding you back from living a wealthy lifestyle, you can start to live with more abundance in your life.

Read on to find out which books you should be reading to get you on the track to financial prosperity and success!

My Top Picks

I was first introduced to John Kehoe and his Mind Power program when I attended a life-changing presentation by Robin Banks here in South Africa. This was over 13 years ago and I purchased both John Kehoe’s books, “Mind Power into the 21st Century” and “Money Success & You.” I’ve written about “Mind Power into the 21st Century” in my blog talking about tapping into your mind power.

“Money Success & You” is a simple but complete guide with practical examples teaching you how to live a fulfilling and meaningful life that includes financial prosperity. The book starts with introducing you to your mind and what money beliefs you have that serve and don’t serve you. The author shows you how to let go of the limiting beliefs while installing new, empowering beliefs around money.

You discover how to build a prosperity consciousness and why finding your passion is key to leading a harmonious and balanced life that is successful at the same time.

None of this is possible without taking responsibility and getting serious about the action steps. John Kehoe shows you how to take action by including winning strategies as well as sharing stories of persistent people who have made millions as a result of never giving up.

No life is truly fulfilling without having balance and the author has included a section on how to go about getting this. John Kehoe firmly believes that working less is the key to ultimate success. In other words, it’s about working smart so you can get a healthy balance. The author talks about including leisure and fun in your life while making your millions.

This book relies on self-mastery and as the author says,

“Self-mastery is nothing mysterious."

He goes on to say,

“It is the ability to know and understand yourself at the deepest level and to make the changes, both internal and external that are necessary for your growth and success.”

An easy-to-read book that includes exercises and practical tasks, you’ll be well on your way to creating an abundance mindset when you’ve finished reading “Money Success & You.”

Suze Orman is no stranger when it comes to financial teachings with her book, “The 9 Steps to Financial Freedom” being a No. 1 bestseller. Her book, “The Courage to Be Rich – Creating a Life of Material and Spiritual Abundance” talks about choices. And, the author believes we all have a choice to be courageous especially when we decide we want to be rich in all areas of our lives.

Suze Orman not only challenges you to discover your full financial potential but also introduces you to exploring the richness and wealth that can be found in your heart and soul. This practical book uses the rites of passage you face through life such as love, marriage, the birth of your children, divorce, and so much more, and connects it with your financial worth.

The author truly believes that by valuing and respecting money on a deeper level, you’re expanding your financial destiny to greater realms. Suze Orman introduces you to the basics of managing money as well as finding the courage to go within and deciding you want to have more. She talks about the value of money and cultivating rich thoughts.

The book touches on an essential area most of us ignore and that is love and money. The author shows you how to stay financially astute while navigating situations such as:

  • What is yours and mine in a love relationship

  • Surviving a divorce financially intact

  • Coping with money issues after the loss of a loved one

Suze Orman also writes about buying a home and how to make it work for you so you’re not left with insurmountable debts. She ends the book by writing about connecting with the world and making a difference when we choose to be rich.

This book was published in 1999 and you may think its principles are outdated. Far from that! I still refer to this book many times whenever I start to waver in my abundance mindset and I encourage all my clients to read it too.

Watch Suze Orman as she shares invaluable tips around saving money during the COVID-19 pandemic.

What does a book about relationships have to do with money? Well, a whole lot if you understand the interconnectedness of all our life areas which includes emotional, health, vocation, partners, spiritual, personal development, and yes, money.

When you have a deeper understanding and a more conscious awareness of relationships, you’ll discover how they impact your overall wellbeing. And, this includes being financially abundant.

Through the teachings of Abraham, channeled through Ester Hicks, you’ll not only understand the Law of Attraction and how it influences the myriad of relationships. But, you also discover what you DO want and what you DON’T want.

“The Vortex” allows you to find ways of changing your perspective around cooperative relationships and how it can change the way you feel. The teachings will improve your sense of empowerment while aligning you with all that brings you joy. When this happens, your vibrations are in such a state that you find yourself attracting everything and everyone that will serve you.

Relationships can expand or hamper your financial life. The authors of this book want you to find your “guidance system” so that you may create and align with who you really are. Only then can you live a successful and abundant life in all areas.

If you want a book written by the same authors that focus entirely on money, get their successful publication, “Money and the Law of Attraction” released in 2008.

Final Thoughts

All three of these books are on my bookshelf and have been read numerous times. I’ve shared them with a number of my clients to empower them to discover their own abundance mindset. And, I often turn to these books when I need to remind myself of my own mind power when it comes to growing and expanding abundance, success, and love in my life.

Here are the other three books I mentioned in this article:
